Women’s Drum-Making Journey & Retreat

Making your own frame drum (also called medicine drum or shamanic drum) is an empowering experience that women from many cultures have practiced for thousands of years. Throughout herstory, the frame drum has been played as a sacred musical instrument, a shamanic healing tool and a powerful symbol of the Sacred Feminine. When crafting your own drum, you're also taking a spiritual journey, a deeply transformative process that culminates in the joy of birthing a beautiful new creation.
Hand-crafted with gifts from nature ~ timber and rawhide ~ the journey of making a frame drum is an alchemical process that engages the maker on many levels as she works to transform the raw materials into a new and unique drum. It’s a labour of love during which wonderful, mysterious and challenging things can happen... a drum is born and a woman is re-birthed.

If you're going through a transition in your life, if you’re finding your voice or healing an old wound, if you wish to birth something new within yourself, if you're seeking to nourish your creativity or deepen your connection with the Sacred Feminine, or if you're simply hearing the inner call to make your own drum, this powerful Journey is for you.

Anne-Marie guides small, intimate groups of 4-6 women who gather for three days in the beautiful south-west bush to birth their drums and journey with their personal intentions.

The retreat is residential with breakfast and lunch provided; evening meals are shared contributions. Held and nourished by beautiful Wadandi Boodja, you can be fully immersed in your experience to receive maximum benefit, value, enjoyment and satifaction.
